Stenger's wharf in winter, ca. 1934
Contributed by Friendship Museum
Description
Tied up to Stenger's wharf in the dead of winter, this schooner was designed by Charles Morse in Waldoboro. It was used as a freighter, with booms near the stern of the boat to hoist goods in and out of the schooner.
Schooners hauled freight up and down the coast well into the twentieth century.
