Description
This image shows the Moosehead II Steamboat towing boom of logs on Moosehead Lake. the Moosehead II was built by Major Benjamin S. Bigney in 1854 and operated by the Moosehead Lake Navigation Company until they sold it to the Coburn Steamboat Company in April of 1900.
The Moosehead II was 96 feet long, propellar driven with a pain compound engine. she traveled at 14 knots per hour and had the longest service of all the Moosehead Lake steamboats.
