A trot or one-step tune, Thanks for the Lobster is a humorous story about courtship and marriage, using lobsters as a metaphor for the unhappy couple.
O.E. “Chick” Story owned a sheet music publishing company on Tremont Street in Boston. Some of his other songs include Take Me to the Chicken Ball, The Girl from Bermuda, and a celebration of new technology: I’d like to Call You on the Phone.
