Description
William Buzzell was the owner and operator of the Exchange hotel, starting in 1872. When the foundation for this building was laid in 1880 bystanders warned Buzzell that he could not expect to fill all the rooms as planned. Within in one year, he had added an addition for ten more rooms. Buzzell built this second Exchange hotel in 1880 after the first one was destroyed by fire.
Peoplel considered the Exchange hotel one of Aroostook County's favorite hotels. Left to right, Fred F. Merritt Shoe Store, unknown doctors office, the Exchange, Carrie B. Smart Millinery.
