History happens person to person. Everyone has a story to tell, and those stories—YOUR stories—are important contributions to Maine history. We want to know why Maine is different from other states, and how Maine has shaped your lives. We are interested in everything from your favorite story about a place, to your reminiscences about a "Maine character," and everything in between.
Maine Historical Society received a National Leadership Grant from Institute of Museum and Library Services to expand Maine Memory Network, Maine's digital collective museum featuring over 45,500 items from approximately 270 contributing partners around the state.
My Maine Stories opens Maine Memory Network to individual contributors for the first time, helping to diversify collections, and activate communities across Maine. Your stories will be archived on Maine Memory Network for posterity, as primary source historic materials, so important to future research.
