Description
Titled as a "Map of the Northern part of the state of Maine and of the adjacent British Provinces, shewing [sic] that portion of that state to which Great Britain lays claim," it was "reduced from the original map with corrections from the latest surveys by S.L. Dashiell Washington 1830."
This annotated map was used to illustrate aspects of the Northeast Boundary dispute between the United States and British interests in Canada. Hand drawn red, yellow, and green lines outline the geographic updates or perspectives. This version was engraved by "B. Chambers, Engraver, Washington."
