Description
Associated with Donald Davidson Dodge (1889-1974) these well-worn breeches (pants) are from American clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch. Founded in 1892, Abercrombie & Fitch focused on sporting goods prior to becoming a staple with teenagers and young adults. Dodge wore these blood-stained breeches in Maine while hunting birds such as woodcock and partridge. He and his family spent six months of the year at their Rockport estate Spite House, a premier Maine example of Federal-style architecture. Built in 1806, Donald had the house moved via ship from Phippsburg, Maine to Rockport in 1925.
