Description
On February 9, 1925, Evening Express photographers captured the vault transfer in gold and securities from Chapman Bank’s location at 185 Middle Street to its new home at 477 Congress Street. Bank officials, contractors, and armed police loaded and transported the valuable cargo in just five minutes, with visible security from police, plainclothes guards, and a backup race car.
