Description
A tintype portrait of Herman Daniel Small (1851-1877), son of George and Eleanor Small of Raymond. Initially a farm laborer in Gorham, he later moved to Lowell, Massachusetts and became a watchman for Merrimack Manufacturing Company by 1874. There he married Jennie Melville of New Brunswick on April 24th, 1877. The marriage was short, as Herman died December 7th, 1877 and was buried in Hillside Cemetery in Gorham.
