Description
Luxford Harriman was a private in the 14th Maine Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. He mustered into service on December 3rd, 1861, shortly after marrying Philena Gardner of Bucksport. This tintype was likely a keepsake for Philena to remember him by. He fell ill while stationed in Louisiana and died in the U.S. Marine Hospital in New Orleans on December 24th, 1863.
