Description
Guy Gannett's aerial photograph division captured this image of the June 2, 1936 fire on Peaks Island, which shows buildings above Forest City Landing burning. The June 3rd edition of the Evening Express reported that stores along Island Ave were ablaze. John Grant, a homeowner, lost his Island Ave house to the fire.
