John Brooks 'Jack' Howard (1875-1971) photographed a campsite with dinner underway near the Fox Hole stretch of the West Branch of the Penobscot River during a trip circa 1910.

The glass plate negative was stored in an acidic paper sleeve labeled: "No. 173 | Name: Dinner at Fox Hole."
