Description
Architecture commission for John Sedgwick Hyde at High Street in Bath, ME, 1913–1914. The commission is associated with John Calvin Stevens and John Howard Stevens Architects. This item is part of the Stevens Architects drawings and records collection.
"Elmhurst" now Hyde School, was completed in 1914 for John S. Hyde, a president of the Bath Iron Works and a former city mayor.
The house was built in Georgian revival style with elaborate interior paneling and a swimming pool in the basement.
John Calvin Stevens of Portland was the architect.
