Description
This pair of eyeglasses, a gold or gold-plated pince-nez with a leather case, belonged to Dr. Lorenzo Norton of Baldwin. Part of a collection of objects in a doctor’s bag circa 1920, these eyeglasses were among the personal belongings of Dr. Norton, a well-respected physician known for his service during the 1918-1919 Influenza pandemic.
Dr. Norton disappeared in 1920, a case that captured widespread media attention. Renowned for his kindness and dedication to his community, his sudden absence left many unanswered questions. For nine years, his whereabouts remained unknown until he was discovered in a hospital in New York, offering little explanation for his disappearance.
