Description
Portland Press Herald photographers captured a lively scene on a Portland playground as a group of children kicked a ball across the dirt-covered ground. The children were fully engaged, their energy and excitement clear as they played together outdoors at recess.
Guy Gannett, the founder and owner of the Portland Press Herald, had a simple vision for his papers: "Maine First." His publications focused on Maine news and politics, prioritizing local relevance while incorporating high-quality photojournalism to illustrate the stories.
