The Vaughan House was a well-regarded hotel in Caribou. It burned and was rebuilt multiple times.

This image is contained in the nine volume published collection of photogravure images titled, "Artwork of Aroostook County, Maine," v. 2, W. H. Parish Publishing Co., Chicago, 1895. A complete set of volumes is owned by the Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library, Presque Isle, ME.
