A story by MLTI Stories of Impact Project from 1990-2010
Crystal Priest interview recorded on August 28, 2021.
Crystal Priest recounted how on-to-one computing began in Maine schools. She and others in Guilford, recognizing local opportunity and encouraged by then-Governor Angus King's vision, led an effort that provided students and teachers Maine's first 1:1 access to laptops.
Before the Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI) formally began with the Exploration Schools in March of 2002, MSAD 4 in Guilford was showcasing the impact of providing students and teachers one-to-one laptop access.
