Nick Emberley recounted the day in March of 2002 when he and his 7th grade classmates received their Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI) iBooks. Boothbay Region Elementary School was one of the nine Exploration Schools established. These schools received their iBooks in March, before the initial; statewide deployment of one-to-one laptops in the fall of 2002.
