In his own words: "Coach" Bob Cote shares highlights from his life
Born in Biddeford, Maine in 1930, "Coach" Bob Cote is a legend in the Biddeford-Saco area as a highly respected athlete, teacher and three sport coach. He is well-known for his string of winning records, championships and awards. While at Boston College, he received the Varsity Club Trophy for being the top scholar-athlete. He was inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame.
In this interview, he covers what it was like growing up in Biddeford in the 1930s and 40s including the Depression. He shares memories of the great fire of 1947, the role of sports in the Biddeford-Saco area as well as coaching strategies and using French as an advantage. He also reveals the poignant story of his role in the closure of St. Louis High School.
