Description
Sarah Tibbetts, the wife of mariner and sea captain John M. Tibbetts, wrote to her husband about life at home. She and Captain Tibbetts had a son together who was at home with her. She also cared for a grandson, Paul Leroy "Roy" Boucher.
Sarah had 10 children from her first husband, who died. She mentioned several of her children in the letter, Charles, her oldest son; Gertie and Maud, two daughters; and Eddie who is at sea with her husband.
The "Bert Carr" that Sarah told her husband had died from typhoid fever was 21-year old Albert F. "Burt" Carr.
