John Brooks "Jack" Howard (1875-1971) photographed guide "Bill" driving a wagon drawn by two horses over a very rough woodland road, with Howard himself standing in the foreground holding his lightweight Winchester .30-30 rifle. The photograph was taken during a hunting and fishing trip that began at Meddybemps Lake.
