Description

Sportsman and photographer John Brooks (Jack) Howard (1875-1971) captured this image of a guide, "Bill," driving a wagon drawn by two horses over a rough corduroy road. Such roads were typically built on swamp or bog land and were treacherous for horses.

The lantern slide was rendered from a celluloid negative.
